Phosphomolybdic Acid Usage And Synthesis
Chemical PropertiesPhosphomolybdic Acid is bright yellow crystal(s) [CRC10]
UsesPhosphomolybdic Acid is a reagent used for spectrophotometric determination of phosphate ions.
UsesPhosphomolybdic acid hydrate may be used in the synthesis of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2)-reduced graphene oxide (RGO) composites with potential application as electrodes for sodium ion battery. It may also be used as a catalyst precursor in the presence of hydrogen peroxide as oxidant for the dibenzothiophenes oxidation in diesel fuels.
UsesReactant for preparation of:
  • Catalysts for the nitration of aromatic compounds
  • Highly dispersed MoOx/CNTs (carbon nanotubes) as a support for Pt catalysts
  • Reduced molybdophosphate mixed-valence Keggin clusters
  • Polyoxometalate (POM) hybrid materials based on Keggin polyanion building blocks
  • Luminescent Langmuir-Blodgett films
  • Anchored Wilkinson catalyst
General DescriptionPhosphomolybdic acid hydrate (PAH) is yellow and crystallisable compound. It precipitates from potash, oxides of rubidium, caesium and thallium, ammonia and other nitrogenous organic alkaloids.
