UsesLithium lactate may be employed in the following studies:
  • As an electron spin resonance (ESR) dosimeter material.
  • As lactic acid standard in the determination of lactic acid.
  • As lactic acid standard in the determination of lactic acid with muscle lactic dehydrogenase by an enzymatic method.
UsesLithium Lactate has shown to reduce the uptake of iodine-125 by rat thyroid gland.
Safety ProfileModerately toxic by ingestion and subcutaneous routes. When heated to decomposition it emits acrid smoke and irritating fumes. See also LITHIUM COMPOUNDS.
