 | Chemical Properties | Tuberose absolute is obtained by solvent extraction, via the concrete, from the
blossoms of Polianthes tuberosa L. (Agavaceae) cultivated in Indiawhere 1–2 t are
produced annually. It is an orange to brown liquid with a sweet, narcotic blossom
odor and is used in modern, floral perfume compositions. Its main constituents
are esters of benzoic acid. |  | Chemical Properties | The concrete, obtained in approximately 1.20 to 1.50% yields, is a soft mass with a yellowish-brown color and sweet,
floral, extremely intense odor. The absolute is a viscous, brownish liquid. The oil is obtained in approximately 3 to 6% yields by
