Uses4-Methylumbelliferyl β-D-mannopyranoside has been used as a fluorogenic substrate for β -mannosidase in the enzyme assay of mice tissue extracts, in cell-free translation and midgut of Lutzomyia longipalpis.
Biochem/physiol Actions4-Methylumbelliferyl β-D-mannopyranoside is a fluorescent ligand for concanavalin A and interacts with its carbohydrate binding region. It is also a fluorogenic substrate for β-mannosidase.
