Dibutyl fumarate Usage And Synthesis
Chemical PropertiesCLEAR COLOURLESS LIQUID
UsesDibutyl Fumarate is a transisomer of Di-Bu maleate (DBM), which is widely used as a plasticizer for industrial application and enhances contact sensitization to fluorescein isothiocyanate in mice.
UsesDibutyl fumarate is used as a comonomer for the production of polystyrene.
Flammability and ExplosibilityNonflammable
Safety ProfilePoison by intraperitoneal route. Mildly toxic by ingestion and skin contact. An eye, skn, and mucous membrane irritant. Combustible when exposed to heat or flame; can react with oxidizing materials. To fight fire, use foam, CO2, dry chemical. When heated to decomposition it emits acrid smoke and fumes.
