| | AMMONIUM CHLORIDE-15N Usage And Synthesis |
| Chemical Properties | White crystalline | | Uses | As isotope labelled analogue of Ammonium Chloride, Ammonium chloride-15N can be used in flavouring agents and nitrogen source in fertilizers.
| | Uses | Ammonium-15N chloride has been used:
- as a medium supplement for the incorporation of 15N in sporulation protein, CsfB, for NMR spectroscopy
- in assaying nitrogen loss in marine sediment
- for the incorporation of 15N in apolipoprotein A-I for mass spectrum analysis
| | Biochem/physiol Actions | Ammonium chloride is a component of the nitrogen cycle. Excess of ammonium chloride depletes ATP in astrocytes. Ammonium chloride inhibits the acidification in endosome-lysosome system. It is a hemolysing agent used in the lysis of erythrocytes. Ammonium chloride administration promotes creatinine and urea clearance in rat. |
