METHACRIFOS Usage And Synthesis
Usestrans-Methacrifos is used as a pesticide used to protect crops and vegetation.
UsesGrain protectant, insecticide, acaricide.
DefinitionChEBI: Methacrifos is an organic thiophosphate.
MetabolismMethacrifos administered in animals is rapidly metabolized and excreted. The carboxy methyl ester bond is cleaved as well as the phosphoryl methyl and vinyl ester bonds. Oxidative desulfuration also occurs.
Toxicity evaluationThe acute oral LD50 for rats is 678 mg/kg. Inhalation LC50 (4 h) for rats is 2.2 mg/L air. NOEL (2 yr) for rats is 0.6 mg/kg b.w. daily. ADI is 6 μg/kg b.w.
