UsesAcid Green 50 is a food coloring in drinks and candles. Also used on living cells as protein stains for chemical and molecular analyses.
Preparation(a)4-(Dichloro(4-(dimethylamino)phenyl)methyl)-N,N-dimethylbenzenamine and Naphthalen-2-ol condensation, with hair smoke sulphonated sulfuric acid, and translated into sodium salt; (b) Bis (4 – (dimethylamino) phenyl) methanoland ?3-Hydroxynaphthalene-2,7-disulfonic acid (or 7-Hydroxynaphthalene-1,3-disulfonic acid) condensation, product oxidation, and translated into sodium salt.
Properties and Applicationsblue light green. Blue-green powder. Soluble in cold water, easily soluble in hot water (green blue), soluble in ethanol (turquoise blue). Meet strong sulfuric acid as orange, a green light amber after diluted. Mainly used for wool, polyamide, silk dyeing. Also used in leather, food, medicine and cosmetics of shading.
