Chemical PropertiesWhite crystals. Melting point 138-139 ℃. The solubility in water at 20°C is 20mg/L, 63g/L in acetone, 8g/L in benzene, and 156g/L in dichloromethane.
UsesDifenoxuron is a selective herbicide, mainly used to control allium weeds.
SynthesisDifenoxuron is prepared from 4-(4-methoxyphenoxy)aniline, phosgene and dimethylamine as raw materials.
